I am Walid Wawi, an arranger and classical guitarist.
My journey with music has been shaped by a lifelong passion for harmony, discipline, and expression.

The Beginnings
From my earliest years, I was drawn to melodies and musical arrangements that spoke to me without words.
I found inspiration in old French songs and the works of Demis Roussos, Julio Iglesias, ABBA , Boney M. , Paul Mauriat, Engelbert Humperdinck, George Harrison, The Beatles, Paul Anka, Baccara, and Elias Rahbani.
I was fascinated by how chords intertwined and instruments conversed, and I felt a deep, irresistible pull toward the world of music.
Classical Guitar & Harmony

Finding My Voice in the Classical Guitar
My first instrument was the trumpet, which I studied under my father, Azmi Wawi, and with my teacher, Nassim Maalouf, starting at age eleven. But when I turned seventeen, I discovered the classical guitar.
Its rich harmony and the way it could emulate an entire ensemble captivated me. Through the guitar, I found my own voice and a space to express my deepest musical ideas.

Moscow & Lebanese Association

Moscow and the Lebanese Ensemble
My musical journey took a major turn when I moved to Moscow.
There, I formed the “Lebanese Association” band with fellow Lebanese musicians. We participated in an international annual music competition and, in 1977, our ensemble achieved global recognition, earning first place.
Those experiences not only shaped my career but also allowed me to represent Lebanese music on the world stage.
